November 15, 2008   Suncoast Reginal Training
We regret that we have to cancel the Florida Black Belt Challenge that was scheduled for November 15th.
Given the economics of our time, it was not going to be possible to provide you with the high quality tournament you deserve. We have decided to provide a regional training in place of the tournament. Training from some of Florida's most successful world class coaches and US Team Members.
This will be a very unique experience for all that are involved. Coaches and athletes from many Taekwondo school from across the state will get together in one area and experience great training and sparring scrimmage. Olympic style sparring following modified WTF rules. We will use Ringmaster Electronic Scoring system and large matted rings. Athletes will have the opportunity to spar as many matches as possible. Plus during the black belt session we will be having drawing for prizes. This will be a great enjoyment for all.
We will provide a great atmosphere for all parents, athletes and coaches.
Location:
The Long Center
1501 North Belcher Road
Clearwater, Florida 33765

Time:
Color Belts Session 9:30am - 11:30am

2008 Florida Qualifier draws over 400 athletes

Thank you for your support at the 2008 Florida Tae Kwon do qualifier this past weekend. Competition was fierce as several new schools were in attendance and needed to qualify for nationals. The level of competition was that of a National Tae Kwon Do event. Over 45 officials from TN,GA and Florida stayed for the entire event, Thank you for your hard work. We had over 100 coach's participating .The Coaches had really been on their game, several matches were close and it was the coaching that won the match. The back bone of the event were the volunteers who set up, ran and broke down the event, we couldn't do it without you THANKS!

Update: Earlier in the day an adult athlete was injured and had to go for evaluation to the hospital, He later returned to the event to thank all that helped him, He had no permanent injuries and plans to compete at nationals !!

Rider killed in motorcycle crash was a Tae Kwon Do competitor
