Tae Kwon Do Essay Contest

The Korean organizations, Taekwondo Promotion Foundation (TPF) alongside Kukkiwon and World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), are sponsoring an essay contest for Non-Korean Taekwondo Masters, instructors, and athletes around the world.

The submission deadline is Aug. 31, 2007 Korean Standard Time. All athletes who want to submit an essay are required to hold Kukkiwon's 3rd dan or above. Excluded from submission are all Korean Nationals who are Taekwondo masters, instructors, and athletes, even if they are citizens of another country. Also excluded from the competition are all members of the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF).

 

The following essay themes are listed on the TPF website:

  • “Success stories related to instructing and promoting Taekwondo in one's home country.

  • Ideas and suggestions on how to improve the Taekwondo system or policy for the continuous development of Taekwondo around the world.

  • Personal efforts and attempts to devise ways of instructing or promoting Taekwondo to adapt to different situations & cultural environments.”

The length of an essay should be between 10 and 30 pages, printed as an A4 document (210×297mm), 12 point font. All submissions need to be in English.

Every applicant can only submit one essay either via postal mail or on the TPF website (http://www.worldtaekwondopia.org/eng/news/noticeView.asp?idx=12). All essays submitted by postal mail, should arrive before Aug. 31, 2007 Korean time.
